Today we traveled under the trees

June 8, 2002

Today we traveled under the trees.
     Green and yellow sunlight
     mixed with leaves,
     gazing at us,

     Bathing us,
     Caressing us with memories.

     Will we ever come back?

This was to be our home.
The place to watch the sunset
     Sleepily disappear over the water.

Today we traveled under the trees.

     Long drapes of Spanish moss,
     Hollow places between the branches,
A tunnel of boughs at the end

     Sighed,
     "Will you ever come back?"

Peter Falkenberg Brown is passionate about writing, publishing and public speaking. He hopes that someday he can live up to his favorite motto: “Expressing God’s white-hot, transcendent love in all directions, every second of every day, creates an infinitely expanding sphere of heart.”

~ Deus est auctor amoris et decoris. ~
