A few months ago, a friend of mine sent me a link to the
Animal Rescue Site. By clicking on the purple button for the charity or
charities of your choice, they receive donations from sponsors. In addition to
the Animal Rescue Site, you can also benefit other causes such as hunger,
breast cancer, the rain forest, literacy and children's health. They also raise
funds to help with natural disasters. Here’s the link:

I like going to this site every morning when I read my
email. Daily visits make me feel like I’m doing something substantial to help
others in some small way and it keeps me aware of ongoing issues.
The way it works is that they send me a daily reminder
notice in my email box with a date sensitive link. I copy and paste that link
into my browser and go through the clicks I want to support for the various
charities.
They have lots of items for sale, which also support the
causes, and they circulate a large number of petitions on issues, which are
sent to the legislature to affect public policy. Of course signing them is
optional.
