Loving Our Fellow Men

~ Helen Keller ~

September 9, 2010

Helen Keller

Posted by Kimmy Sophia Brown

“It is wonderful how much time good people spend fighting the devil. If they would only expend the same amount of energy loving their fellow men, the devil would die in his own tracks of ennui.”

~ Helen Keller ~

Helen Keller (1880-1968) is one of the most beloved figures of 20th Century America. Blind and deaf from an illness at the age of 19 months, she was liberated from her disabilities by her beloved teacher, Annie Sullivan, who taught her sign language. For fifty years they worked together for the sake of the blind and deaf all over the world. She met presidents and leaders of many nations, was friends with Mark Twain and Alexander Graham Bell, wrote books and gave speeches, constantly challenging her limitations. Her story continues to inspire millions of people.
