A Concatenation of Software

Software Bliss is Bliss when you use your computer. Bliss for technical and non-technical users. The opposite of software bliss is when your computer hates you and rebels and one is tempted to shoot it. We can't do that, now can we?

Of course, this list is totally subjective. Opinions about software are like religion. In any case, this is our list :-).

Concatenation is defined at one of our favorite websites: dictionary.com. In programming, it means the linkage of two or more values as in "John" . "Smith" (with the dot (.) being the operator that "concatenates" the values together), making "John Smith" (at least in the "Perl" programming language).

They say that the children of cobblers sometimes don’t have good shoes, and so it has been with me. Since I felt reluctant to dump all of my contacts into a web database, and since my other desktop database programs seemed to be overkill, I’ve been living without a good contact management database for a number of years. The last ones I had used were a dBASE/Clipper utility, and an Alpha Five for Windows data app that I had written ages ago.
